Basketball Recap: Early County Takes a Loss

Early County lost against Terrell County back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bobcats received a blow as they fell 45-30 to the Greenwave. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Greenwave are ranked 128th).

Lailah Means was Early County's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Means also led the team in rebounds with seven. Karli Thornton took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Among those leading the charge was Khloe Brown, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Lynesha Hill, who scored seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Early County and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Terrell County, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Early County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Randolph-Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Terrell County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Pataula Charter Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
