Softball Recap: Melbourne Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Melbourne Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sebastian River Sharks. The Hustlers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sharks earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Melbourne Central Catholic saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Rollinger, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Rollinger hit this season.

Melbourne Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Sebastian River, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Melbourne Central Catholic will take on Bishop Moore in a tournament on Saturday. As for Sebastian River, they will take on Franklin Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
