Recap: Mt. Zion Braves vs. MacArthur Generals
The Mt. Zion Braves can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 60-22 victory over MacArthur at home. Given Mt. Zion's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while MacArthur is ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, MacArthur saw an underclassman step up: Lexi Meyer scored 13 points.
Mt. Zion pushed their record up to 17-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for MacArthur, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. MacArthur will take on Champaign Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
