Evergreen is 8-2 against Standley Lake since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Evergreen Cougars will square off against the Standley Lake Gators at 6:00 p.m. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Addie McEvers and Sydney Martin.

Evergreen is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Green Mountain on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Evergreen had to suffer through a 79-27 loss at the hands of Green Mountain. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Rams are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Standley Lake's strategy against Pomona on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Standley Lake blew Pomona out of the water with a 67-11 final score. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 30 points or more this season.

Standley Lake is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Evergreen, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Evergreen didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Standley Lake in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 32-28 win.
