Volleyball Recap: Franklin Monroe Comes Up Short

Franklin Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Cedarville Indians, falling 3-0. If the Jets were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Indians when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Franklin Monroe took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-19.

Jaylin Swiger paced Franklin Monroe's offense, picking up five kills. Swiger got some help from Brooklyn Miller and her 13 assists. Emma Muhlenkamp controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Cedarville was led to victory by Elizabeth Caraway and Aubrey Van Loo. Caraway had five digs and three aces, while Van Loo had three digs and two assists. That's the most aces Caraway has posted over her last seven matchups.

Franklin Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Cedarville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Franklin Monroe will challenge Fairlawn at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cedarville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Southeastern Local on the 7th.
