Recap: Danville Blue Devils vs. Lowellville Rockets
With a playoff game on the line, the Danville Blue Devils rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on Lowellville with a sharp 41-21 win. Danville is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 13 straight.
It was another big night for Cole Delaughder, who rushed for 238 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Delaughder is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Walker Weckesser also helped out as he racked up 126 rushing yards.
Despite the loss, Lowellville still got an impressive performance from Michael Ballone, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Danville's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Lowellville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2.
Danville will head out on the road to face off against Dalton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dalton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Lowellville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
