Basketball Recap: Dawson School Mustangs vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles
After flying high against the Clear Creek Golddiggers last Thursday, the Dawson School Mustangs came back down to earth. Dawson School had to suffer through a rough 63-22 loss at the hands of the Eagles. Dawson School has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Dayspring Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Faith Hayward led the charge by scoring 23 points along with two steals. Hayward is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Eboselulu Omofoma was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Dawson School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Dawson School will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver Christian is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will face off against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kiowa will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
