Soldotna hadn't done well against Kenai Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Stars came out on top against the Kardinals by a score of 3-1. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory last Friday.

While Soldotna might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Kenai Central scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 26-24, 25-21.

Samantha Piscoya was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last nine matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Soldotna was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenai Central only served six.

When it comes to explaining why Kenai Central lost, don't look at Brynnen Hanson. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and one assist. Hanson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Soldotna's victory bumped their record up to 23-15. As for Kenai Central, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 32-14-5.

As of now, neither Soldotna nor the Kardinals have any future games scheduled.
