League recap: Chauvin dominating on the mound for Cathedral

1A Region 7 league recap: 3/8/13

1A Region 7's top pitcher this week was Cathedral's Austin Chauvin. Over the past week, he had one win and 11 Ks.

St. Aloysius and the Green Wave are tied atop the standings of the league, leaving first place open for the taking.

Although West Lincoln surrendered only six walks this week, the lowest number in the league over that span, the Flashes are still tops for the season with just eight walks over 13 innings this year.

Brock Roberts's .500 batting average (3-for-6) for Bogue Chitto was the best in the league this week. For the season, he's hitting .500, good for third in the league. Roberts has totaled six hits this season.

Cathedral's Chauvin led the league in strikeouts this week with 11. With 16 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.



Will Pierce was an RBI machine on Saturday, as he knocked in four runs during St. Aloysius' 18-11 win over St. Joseph Catholic. He went 2-for-4 and scored one run.

Chauvin struck out ten in Adams County Christian's 6-4 win over the Green Wave on March 5. Over his six innings pitched he allowed zero runs on one hit.
