Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chester

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chester walked away with it. They took down the Wells Pirates 64-48 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets who have now won three matchups in a row.

Chester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Citrano led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Citrano a new career-high in assists (five). Kyli Handley was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Chester was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Chester's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Wells, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-19.

Looking ahead, Chester will square off against Abbott at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
