Basketball Recap: Providence Takes a Loss

Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loyalton Grizzlies. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-44 on January 7th.

Loyalton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryland Martinetti, who posted 14 points. Ace Armstrong was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Loyalton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Providence will square off against Westwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Loyalton has already played their next match (against Herlong), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
