Softball Recap: Sedan Devils vs. West Elk Patriots

Sedan came into Monday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the West Elk Patriots 17-1. Sedan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 16 runs or more this season.

Adley Pappan and Sophia Rios did most of the damage at the plate: Pappan scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Rios scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Brailee Blakemore was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Sedan's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for West Elk, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Sedan will head out on the road to square off against Cedar Vale/Dexter at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sedan is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for West Elk, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Flinthills on Thursday. Flinthills and West Elk are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
