Baseball Recap: Mammoth Comes Up Short

Desert hit Mammoth with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Huskies lost 11-0 to the Scorpions. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Scorpions earlier this season, when they won 18-6.

Mammoth saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Osnaya, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Mammoth has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Desert, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mammoth will venture away from home to square off against Lee Vining at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Desert, they will head out to face off against Rosamond at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scorpions are facing the Roadrunners at the right time seeing as the Roadrunners are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
