Basketball Recap: Spackenkill Takes a Loss

Spackenkill lost against Roosevelt back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spackenkill Spartans had to suffer through a 67-35 loss at the hands of the Roosevelt Presidents. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Defeat or not, Spackenkill got some senior leadership from Maryclare Parker-Stark and Blythe McQuade. Parker-Stark went 5-for-7 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds, while McQuade posted nine points. That was a full 40% of Spackenkill's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Spackenkill's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Roosevelt, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Spackenkill will face off against Millbrook at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Spackenkill is facing Millbrook at the right time seeing as Millbrook is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Roosevelt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
