Basketball Recap: Midview's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

North Ridgeville came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Midview, but Leah DiFranco wouldn't allow it. The Midview Middies strolled past the North Ridgeville Rangers with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 65-51 thanks in part to DiFranco, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Midview's points.

Another player making a difference was Riley Frei, who posted three points and four steals. Those four steals gave her a new career-high.

Midview's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14. As for North Ridgeville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Midview and North Ridgeville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Midview (ranked 484th) will meet Avon (ranked 105th) at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Midview is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Meanwhile, North Ridgeville will face off against Berea-Midpark at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday down 218 places (358 vs. 140).
