Soccer Game Preview: Thornton vs. Mountain Range

The Thornton Trojans will head out to face off against the Mountain Range Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Thornton is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Thornton after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 3-1 to Northglenn.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Range). Everything went their way against Pomona on Thursday as Mountain Range made off with an 11-1 win. With that victory, Mountain Range brought their scoring average up to 3.3 goals per game.

Their offense was hitting Pomona from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Addison Speidell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Mountain Range's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matchups. As for Thornton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
