Baseball Recap: Black Hills' Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Black Hills came into Wednesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Centralia Tigers on Wednesday. The Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Blain Thomas made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Cooper Parkinson was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jesse Keith was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI.

Black Hills' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Centralia, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Black Hills will take on Tumwater at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Centralia, they will host WF West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
