Soccer Game Preview: Fort Chiswell vs. Bath County

The Fort Chiswell Pioneers will venture away from home to take on the Bath County Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Chiswell's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Friday, Fort Chiswell didn't have quite enough to beat Tazewell and fell 2-1.

The Pioneers' goal came courtesy of Ashlynn Caviness, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bath County, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Bland County last Friday.

Fort Chiswell's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-2. As for Bath County, their win bumped their record up to 3-5-1.

Fort Chiswell couldn't quite get it done against Bath County when the teams last played back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
