Baseball Game Preview: Rison Wildcats vs. Hamburg Lions

The Rison Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Hamburg Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Rison barely beat McGehee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Owls on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won five games in a row.

Meanwhile, while Hamburg put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Star City. The Lions put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 7-0 victory. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Hamburg's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Rison, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Rison was able to grind out a solid victory over Hamburg when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
