Pueblo County has gone 8-2 against Pueblo South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hornets will square off against the Colts at 4:00 p.m. Pueblo County will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Pueblo County made easy work of Pueblo Centennial and carried off a 12-1 win. Considering the Hornets have won six games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Blake Swift was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Pueblo County let Pat Noga and Jacob Gonzales run wild. Noga scored a run and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Gonzales scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Gonzales a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Cole Barger, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Pueblo County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Pueblo South didn't have quite enough to beat Pueblo Central on Saturday and fell 2-1. The Colts have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Pueblo County's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Pueblo South, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pueblo County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Pueblo South struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pueblo County came out on top in a nail-biter against Pueblo South in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
