Softball Recap: Garber Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Garber fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Ithaca on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 5-2 to the Yellowjackets.

Kara Kotenko spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Wagner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

Garber's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-14. As for Ithaca, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Garber will venture away from home to face off against Millington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Dukes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ithaca, they will square off against St. Louis at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
