Softball Recap: Stark County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Princeville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stark County). They put the hurt on the Princeville Princes with a sharp 19-7 victory on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Sophie Finnegan was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Katie Grinnell also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Stark County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Stark County's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Princeville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Stark County will square off against Henry-Senachwine at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Princeville, they will take on ROWVA/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Princes are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
