Basketball Game Preview: Whitney Young Dolphins vs. Potomac School Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Whitney Young Dolphins will jump right back in to play the Potomac School Panthers at 12:35 p.m. on Saturday. Whitney Young has given up an average of 51.5 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Whitney Young is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Neumann-Goretti on Friday. The Dolphins took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints. The Dolphins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Whitney Young saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Neelah Leach, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards, was perhaps the best of all. Leach is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Ellis, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 16 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Potomac School waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 63-51.

Potomac School's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Whitney Young, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
