Athens never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Edison Spartans as they made off with  a  10-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matches by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Nick Grazul made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Grazul was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Eli Hobday, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double.  Brady Flynn was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
 Athens was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive  contests.
Athens pushed their record up to 9-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, their loss  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 6-3.
 Athens and Edison should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in their respective state rankings. The Wildcats will  face off against  Troy  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  advantage  (28 vs. 120). Meanwhile,  Edison (ranked 59th) will meet Whitney Point (ranked 234th)  at 4:45  p.m.  on Monday.
