Softball Preview: Cypress Bay Lightning vs. South Plantation Paladins

The Cypress Bay Lightning will head out on the road to square off against the South Plantation Paladins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Cypress Bay made easy work of Pompano Beach and carried off a 10-2 win. The victory was just what Cypress Bay needed coming off of a 13-2 loss in their prior game.

Ayden Ballard spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Cypress Bay let Ana Rincon and Teresa Foschia loose on the outfield. Rincon scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Foschia scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Cypress Bay's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for South Plantation, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
