Football Recap: Volcano Vista Hawks vs. Farmington Scorpions        
        
		
             On Thursday, Volcano Vista faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Volcano Vista Hawks simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Farmington Scorpions 41-7 at home. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won five games by 20  points or more  so far this season.
  Ilijah Hansen had a dynamite game for Volcano Vista, throwing for 235 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 31 yards. Another player making a difference was  Ismael Mendez Iii, who picked up 70 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Another reason for the win was Volcano Vista's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Kaleb Vander Wilt and  Daniel Rios, who racked up  four sacks between them. Rios is also on a roll when it comes to  total tackles, as he's  now  made five or more in the last seven games he's  played dating back to last season.  Thomas Pettus was another major factor on D,  forcing two fumbles and making eight total tackles (1.0 for loss).
 The  win was  the sixth in a row for Volcano Vista, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. As for Farmington, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record  this season.
 Volcano Vista will venture away from home to  take on Rio Rancho  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Volcano Vista is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Farmington, they will welcome Cibola  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
