Softball Recap: Notre Dame (SO) Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

Notre Dame (SO) won the last time they faced Chaminade and things went their way on Monday too. The Knights came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 8-5.

Aliyah Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Keira Luderer was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jackie Morales, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Notre Dame (SO) is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Chaminade, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-11-1.

Coming up, Notre Dame (SO) will challenge Harvard-Westlake at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chaminade, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Louisville at 3:15 p.m. on the 29th.
