It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but South Hadley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the East Longmeadow Spartans 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Spartans back in April, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

The win got South Hadley back to even at 4-4. As for East Longmeadow, they moved to 11-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, South Hadley will square off against Pittsfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for East Longmeadow, they will venture away from home to take on Easthampton/Hampshire at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
