Preview: Cornerstone Christian School Cougars vs. Lewiston Tigers

The Cornerstone Christian School Cougars are on the road again on Friday and plays the Lewiston Tigers on February 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Cornerstone Christian School is ranked 224th, while Lewiston is ranked 248th).

On Monday, Cornerstone Christian School had to suffer through a rough 68-24 loss at the hands of Weeping Water. Cornerstone Christian School was down 48-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Lewiston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southern.

Everett Bohling put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Jaxon Janssen was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Cornerstone Christian School's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Lewiston, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Cornerstone Christian School was dealt a bruising 59-23 defeat at the hands of Lewiston when the teams last played back in February of 2017. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cornerstone Christian School was down 33-11.
