Basketball Recap: Evyn Lemmon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Frankfort over Pinckneyville

If Frankfort was feeling good fresh off their 52-21 takedown of Eldorado on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redbirds lost 51-31 to the Pinckneyville Panthers on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redbirds of the 36-17 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Several Redbirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evyn Lemmon, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Lemmon also put up a block, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Presli Britton, who posted nine points and five steals.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pinckneyville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Frankfort has already played their next contest (against Goreville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Pinckneyville, they will take on Carterville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
