Softball Game Preview: Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles vs. Kimball Cubs

Eden Valley-Watkins hasn't had much luck against Kimball recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Cubs at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Eden Valley-Watkins took on Foley on Monday. The Eagles walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Kimball waltzed into their matchup on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Mainstreeters. 14 seems to be a good number for the Cubs as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kimball's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Eden Valley-Watkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11-1 record this season.

Eden Valley-Watkins suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Kimball when the teams last played back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
