Football Game Preview: Crosby Cougars vs. Angleton Wildcats + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Lott Robison and Bryce Duron are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Crosby Cougars will take on the Angleton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Crosby really took it to Porter for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-14 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Crosby got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nehemiah Jordan out in front who picked up 157 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Jordan's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. Luke Wheeler was in the mix as well, providing Crosby with two TDs.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Crosby's defense and their four sacks. Porter's QB won't forget Ashton Lemelle anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Angleton came up short against La Porte on Friday and fell 47-40. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Crosby will have to keep a close watch on Wyatt Neyland and Kaleb Jammer, a pair of players who had a big impact on Angleton's prior game. Neyland rushed for 108 yards and one score on only 12 carries, while Jammer threw for 26 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Neyland's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.

Crosby now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Angleton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Crosby has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 360.7 total yards per game. However, it's not like Angleton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 478 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

Crosby came up short against Angleton in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 13-8. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
