Basketball Game Preview: Philip Scotties vs. Stanley County Buffalos

The Philip Scotties will take on the Stanley County Buffalos in a holiday battle at at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Philip is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Thursday, they were much more limited against Lemmon on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Cowboys an easy 52-26 win.

Meanwhile, Stanley County lost to Winner at home by a 48-33 margin on Tuesday. The Buffalos haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Stanley County's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Philip, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Philip strolled past Stanley County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 67-53. Will Philip repeat their success, or does Stanley County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
