Baseball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-1 to the Tohopekaliga Tigers. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 16-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Tohopekaliga, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will square off against Oak Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.53 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tohopekaliga, they will challenge Cornerstone Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Ducks at the right time seeing as the Ducks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
