Basketball Recap: Ridgeway Takes Down Brighton in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ridgeway walked away with it. They took down the Brighton Cardinals 73-55 on Saturday.

It was another big night for Kayin Mitchell, who went 10-for-18 to rack up 31 points. He is becoming a predictor of Ridgeway's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 9-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jayden Williams, who shot 73% from the field en route to 17 points and eight boards.

Ridgeway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. Brighton's loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Coming up, Ridgeway will face off against Munford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Munford will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Ridgeway surely won't give up without a fight. Brighton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
