Basketball Game Preview: Northside Grizzlies vs. Rogers Mountaineers

Northside is 10-0 against Rogers since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Northside Grizzlies will look to defend their home court against the Rogers Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. Northside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.

Northside is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Springdale, who was ranked fifth at the time (Northside was ranked sixth). Northside enjoyed a cozy 72-57 win over Springdale on Monday.

Northside's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Erianna Gooden, who went 8 for 11 on her way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, and Camryn Schmidt, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Schmidt also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Kaydence Flemming was another key player, putting up seven points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Northside was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Rogers had to suffer through a 61-23 loss at the hands of Har-Ber. The Mountaineers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Northside's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Rogers, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Northside took their win against Rogers when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 57-36. In that matchup, Northside amassed a halftime lead of 31-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
