Softball Game Preview: Goose Creek Gators vs. West Ashley Wildcats

The Goose Creek Gators are taking a road trip to square off against the West Ashley Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Goose Creek has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Goose Creek came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-1 to Fort Dorchester. The Gators have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Goose Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emery Gandolfo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, West Ashley's undefeated season came to an end after three games last Saturday. They fell just short of West Florence by a score of 3-2. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Goose Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for West Ashley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything went Goose Creek's way against West Ashley in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, as Goose Creek made off with a 17-7 win. Will Goose Creek repeat their success, or does West Ashley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
