After losing to Gem State Adventist Academy the last time they met, Centennial Baptist decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Jaguars on Tuesday. That two set margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 20-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Katie Oostra went supernova, getting 13 kills and five aces. Leilani Malepeai was another key player, getting eight kills, three digs, and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Centennial Baptist was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive games.

Gem State Adventist Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashton Decker, who had five kills and five aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Miler, who had six kills, three aces, and two blocks.

Centennial Baptist's record is now 3-1. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Centennial Baptist will challenge rival Notus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season. Meanwhile, Gem State Adventist Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Idaho City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. This will also be the Jaguars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
