Sophomore wing led Notre Dame to Division I state championship.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Abdou Toure of Notre Dame (West Haven) is the 2023-24 Connecticut MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-6 sophomore wing led the Knights to a 28-0 record and Division I state championship.

For the season, Toure averaged 21.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest while shooting 68 percent from the field, 41 percent from 3-point range and 79 percent from the free throw line.
