Basketball Recap: South Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Crothersville last Thursday, South Central came back down to earth. The South Central Rebels took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwestern Rebels. The defeat was just more heartbreak for South Central who fell 58-55 when the teams previously met back in December of 2022.

Among those leading the charge was Rorie Scroggins, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Sophie Ford was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

South Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Southwestern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

South Central will take on Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwestern and Eastern will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season.
