Baseball Game Preview: Hammon Warriors vs. Blair Broncs

The Hammon Warriors will square off against the Blair Broncs at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blair took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hammon, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Hammon beat Thomas-Fay-Custer 5-1.

Meanwhile, Blair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Cordell, falling 13-5.

Logan Williams and Grant Peterson did some serious damage despite the final result: Williams went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Peterson went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gage Cress, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Hammon pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Blair, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Hammon beat Blair 14-11 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Broncs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
