Baseball Recap: Pine Grove Takes a Loss

Pine Grove fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tri-Valley on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pine Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Lengle, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases. Chandler Sirbaugh also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pine Grove dropped their record down to 5-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pine Grove is set to take on their familiar foe Panther Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tri-Valley will challenge rival Tamaqua at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 4, the Blue Raiders 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
