Cornwall Central came tearing into Monday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over the Valley Central Vikings. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Vikings are ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cornwall Central pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for Valley Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
