Basketball Recap: Muscatine Comes Up Short

Muscatine lost against Bettendorf back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Muscatine Muskies were dealt a 68-30 defeat at the hands of the Bettendorf Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Muskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 53rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Muscatine and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Bettendorf, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Muscatine will be playing at home against Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bettendorf, they will head out on the road to square off against Pleasant Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bettendorf knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Pleasant Valley likes a good challenge.
