Softball Recap: Vermilion Comes Up Short

Vermilion lost against Bellevue back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Vermilion came up short against Bellevue, falling 23-1. The Sailors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Abby Gawry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

Vermilion's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bellevue, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Vermilion will square off against Clyde at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bellevue, they will face off against Monroeville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellevue's pitchers better be ready for this one: Monroeville has averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season.
