Baseball Recap: Rubidoux Takes a Loss

If Rubidoux was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Bethel Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell 7-4 to the West Valley Mustangs on Wednesday.

Emilio Jimenez put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season.

Jimenez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nicolas Elizondo, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Elizondo is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Rubidoux's record now sits at 2-2. As for West Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Rubidoux has already played their next matchup, a 20-1 victory against Entrepreneur on the 5th. As for West Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against Rim of the World on the 5th.
