Volleyball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Davenport Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15, 18-25, 25-16.

When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, don't look at Deylen Mendivil. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs, two aces, and one block. Mendivil is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Eva Hernandez, who had 12 digs and five blocks.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Davenport, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Coming up, Madison will square off against McCallum at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Davenport, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against New Braunfels at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
