Baseball Recap: Dexter Takes a Loss

Dexter suffered their closest loss since May 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Notre Dame Bulldogs by a score of 6-4. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 11-6.

Dexter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justus Lovelady, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Jackson Howard, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Dexter and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Notre Dame, they moved to 7-9-1 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dexter will welcome Kelly at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Notre Dame, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Kennett at 4:30 p.m. The Bulldogs are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
