Basketball Recap: Norrix Knights vs. East Lansing Trojans
Norrix suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 78-45 loss at the hands of the East Lansing Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Trojans are ranked third).
East Lansing was led to victory by Cameron Hutson and Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr.. Hutson went 8-for-13 en route to 23 points and seven boards, while Torbert, Jr. went 6-for-12 on his way to 19 points. Hutson's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Kingston (KT) Thomas was another key player, putting up eight points.
Norrix's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for East Lansing, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Coming up, Norrix will face off against Gull Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Norrix is facing Gull Lake at the right time seeing as Gull Lake is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for East Lansing, they are taking a road trip to take on Okemos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Lansing knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matches -- so hopefully Okemos likes a good challenge.
