Football Recap: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Desert View Jaguars
After flying high against Sunnyside last Friday, Flowing Wells came back down to earth. The Caballeros took a 41-23 bruising from the Desert View Jaguars on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Caballeros in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Flowing Wells still got an impressive performance from Benicio Ruiz, who rushed for 131 yards and one score on only ten carries.
Desert View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Vasavilbaso, who threw for 276 yards and four TDs while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards. Vasavilbaso has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Jaylee Abraham was another key player, rushing for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Flowing Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Desert View, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
